The G0189PC is the result of four iterations of Jotax Intel processor embedded design. This dates back to 1991 when a variant of the 186 chip was used by Jotax in the Data General modem.
From there the product was integrated into the TVX modem and then the Jotax JT116. Currently it is used in the JT186 MMI product and forms the backbone of any Jotax in house embedded designs.
The G0189PC uses the Intel 16 bit processor the 80C196. Currently used throughout the car industry the pedigree of the chip is similar to that of it's sister 8 bit product the 8051.
